GET Better ~ Saturday’s Summation Simply Put

Summation Saturday

Progression cannot be accomplished without making your situation better.

Welcome to another wrap up of a week that we moved forward in our stages of advancement towards what is success in our own light. I say we moved forward because we are still here and still breathing working hand and hand with opportunity to reach the next level.

I have no idea if you accomplished anything at all this week, the point that I want to stress is to make every move a positive. Even if you feel like you did nothing but slack all week, use this week as a poster board of what you will NEVER do again in route to GREATNESS.

I tell myself when can’t tries to breathe, put it in the can… to suffocate it.

This was not meant to be a long drawn out message today (hence the title). The main focus in this  blog or morale to this short story is: always continue to GET better. Never over-judge in your overstanding of any situation involving yourself or others. Now that is not to say don’t have standards, because see… standards are what totally separate the wheat from the tare… (chew on that for a minute).

Always be on improving yourself in any way shape or form.  Never allow yourself or what others say and do to make you stall the motor running in your vehicle, on the road to improvement. In the mean time; take 2 of these, subscribe, and GET EMPOWERED in the morning.

WELCOME Back readers as we take on this wonderful hump day! I am pumped up and ready to go! Today’s blog is going to discuss why it is important to incorporate your children into your health and fitness program. We do this so they will carry the habits of a healthy lifestyle with them early on into adulthood. So go get the children and let’s get it together… It’s #GETFit time…

Father and Sons Push-Ups

GET-Fit To Strengthen Your Lineage

How many of you reading this today grew up in a fitness friendly household? Did you see your parents or whomever cared for you exercising or eating healthy? Was there any specific health routine that you can remember being in place? I can remember growing up as a kid and going skating every other Saturday with my mother and Step-Father. It was fun to get in the back of the Station-Wagon and ride out. We would stay there for hours… skating song after song… Those were the days. I also remember watching a show on local television, early in the mornings while preparing for school called, “Bodyolics”. The women had on leotards and pantyhose, with big hair plastered u with holding spray and halloween make-up. Mind you this was the 80’s, the era of scary but cool fashion. Anyway this was my major influence to fitness. My mother was always fit and so was my step-father. So this was a pleasure to see, later on in life, as to how this would affect my fitness decisions today. Because even though I had an active childhood, I was an overweight child who ate out on weekends at Ryans Steak House on Friday nights and McDonalds at will.

It was not until my high-school years that I began to trim off the weight. I got all the way up to 172 lbs, wearing a size 18 in the 8th grade. Over the summer as I was approaching high-school I took gym in summer school. That is where I met an awesome lady by the name of Phyllis Todd, she was my gym teacher. She gave me some tips of how to get the weight off and keep it off. By the time my sophomore year came around I was a healthy 145 lbs. For my 5’2 hight, 145 lbs was still thicker than what I wanted. So I stopped eating red meat and pork, the best thing I could have ever done for my overall health. My family and friends thought that I had gone crazy… I just had to be anorexic. But I was making a conscious decision, early on that has been reflective and rewarding. I eventually got down to 120 lbs, wearing a size 4 – 6… depending on the cut… because I could not, would not, should not loose my hips… I was born with those… LOL… But here I am age 34, 135 lbs, with 3 children ages 5, 3, and 5 months… with an awesome husband who respects his position as a man of influence in our household. We hold our postions as parents in high regard, focusing on building a lineage of strength and empowerment.

That leads me to the subject at hand… I can’t say it enough that “Children Learn What They Live”. It is so important that we teach our children how to get along within their family environment. That means that we have to learn to incorporate them in everything that we do. This shows the children how to get along in this world by committing to something positive within themselves by honoring their family and temple. Being healthy is about honoring the lineage of our bodily temple by getting proper rest, eating the right foods, and keeping active… not busy. This will produce a disciplin that ends in good results coming from the diligence of hard work and organized commitment.

The one that sleeps on opportunities to improve themselves, are always the ones that are complaining about others imperfections because, they can only see the reflection of their own flaws.

GET Free

When we show our children that we love ourselves and one another, we are showing them how to love themselves. It is not enough to buy them all the clothes, toys, and gadgets, as it is to give them all the integrity, time, and attention fundamental to their development. We have to remember that one day they will be an adult living in a society of chance and influence. So we have these ideas and traditions that become habits, and these habits become our culture, and our culture becomes our idea of freedom. Yet we have this desire in us to keep fighting for this thing called freedom instead of acknowledging the fact that freedom is as freedom does.

GET Influenced

There is a consequence of choices we make in the name of freedom. We just have to exercise our strengths by empowering this generation starting at the home front. It takes more mental endurance than physical endurance, to #GET-Healthy and stay healthy. The example that you set up for your child is to most influential EVER! I know this because I see the habits that I have formed in my own children… some I was conscious of forming… while others I was unconscious. What that did for me was, it made me weigh my thoughts of influence against my heart. How did it make me feel about their personal development? It made me tune in to my own temple and what I found was trust. It was this trust that I had in my ability to decide what I wanted for my life at a very young age. I wanted a strong lineage and therefore I exercised my will and so it became true…

Conclusion ~ Trust in being in alignment with who you say you are. Focus on knowing where you want to be and get there. Work hard to focus on the power of incorporating your children in on your good habits… thus educing them to the power of being free to be humble, honorable, and healthy.
